Polish Basketball Stars Teach Life Lessons at Dream Center

singlecolordcplogogreyOne local summer program got a big surprise this afternoon.

Daria and Sebastian Zwolak, professional basketball players from Poland, stopped by the dream center in Peoria to play a pick-up game.

In 2002, Daria was a starting forward for the ICC Cougars.

They are in town promoting their non-profit Warrior International Training.

Warrior IT builds community life skills and service through basketball.

They are holding a basketball camp at the Peoria YMCA for the next six weeks.

The duo says to get the most out of athletics, you should think of others.

“Being a good athlete is more than just having a talent. Being a good athlete is like Sebastian said, giving back to the community. This is what makes a great athlete and this is what we want to teach our kids at the camp” says Daria.

Their basketball camp is for children heading into their sophomore years up to senior year.

The camp runs June 16th thru July 12th at the Peoria YMCA.
